i have an original xbox modded with only and 80gb seagate and evoX and dont care weather it gets banned, and for some reason it says a dont even have a connection going to the box. when everything else works on my internet it replies no connection. can anyone help? I just modded for fun so i can go in customs on halo 2 and stuff i realized i would be getting banned but for some reason im not allowed on live at all. Help
I have the same issue. I wish I had an answer, because it would help me as well. It has to do with the HDD swap I think, since I'm pretty sure that is when the problem started. I actually thought about putting the stock drive back in and see if it makes a difference, but have been too lazy . If you get a response, pass on the info please. But, anyway I feel your pain
So you get an ip address when dhcp is enabled in a modded dash and you can't connect to xbox live? I'm guessing it's either user error or microsoft has another security protocol in use. It's pointless going on xbox live on a original xbox now anyway. You can use xbox connect www.xbconnect.com to play modded maps. Obviously you know that because i see 360 in your sig but yeah, it is pointless. Microsoft is getting smarter, everytime you sign on a 360 with xbox live they record your ip address and serial number of the xbox. If you swapped the original drive everything should work as normal, and if not it's user error.
Yeah thanks, it's not user error. If I boot M$ dash and try to connect to xbox live it says that there is no cord connected. (I really only wanted to see if the extra content for KotOR is still there) I know that isn't true because I can ftp and run the internet portion of XBMC. I'm sure it is a settings problem, I just don't know what it is. It is probably moot anyway if the content for KotOR is no longer there.
