I downloaded and copied over a codebreaker elf to my usb stick and it seemed like it worked when i launched it, the codebreaker screen comes up but then it goes straight to my SMS screen and forces me to reload ulaunch in order to get back to my free mcboot menu. Same happens when i have my actual codebreaker disc in the tray, goes straight to SMS every time and cant access the main menu/device manager/etc..

Im trying to use codebreaker while playing games off either my hdd or usb stick. my games work fine, the ones that arent in PAL format that is.

Anyone out there have a working codebreaker on their hdd/memory stick/card?

I downloaded a torrent that said modded codebreaker but ill try this one too. I get the feeling it still won't work because when I have my real codebreaker disc in the tray, it still goes to the SMS screen so it must not be my elf

for burning ps1 games try alcohol 120% or cdclone I've had a lot of success with ps1 games using imgburn aswell but some other people say imgburn and its older bro dvd decrypt aren't very good for ps1 games. imgburn/dvddecrypter works perfect for ps2 though. also openps2loader is much better than hd advanced. I hear it has better compatibility for games although since I've never used hd advanced I cant be sure. heres a link to OPL 0.8
also maybe the modded codebreaker doesn't work with hdadvanced? try OPL with the codebreaker elf n call me in the morning. also if you get this you can use it to copy your games over the network. copy the HDLD Sev.elf onto your memcard/usbdrive and boot it from ulaunch then click the .exe for bogamis program and start coping. its probably 1/4 the speed of coping directly from the computer to the hd using a cable but at least you don't have to open the ps2 every time you want a game deleted or copied to the ps2's harddrive.

I downloded openPS2loader and have a game working off my usb but codebreaker isn't showing up in the list. thanks a lot for helping me out by the way, I really appreciate it

edit: I just accidentally clicked one of my codebreaker elf files in the file browser (clicked mass, then my codebreaker elf) it does the same thing as the disc, shows the codebreaker screen and then goes to the screen with the big SMS in the background. hmmm

2nd edit: I yank the usb stick right before the codebreaker screen comes on, my display goes blank and shows only what "video" # the tv is on, and codebreaker launches completely. then I plug the usb back in. I'm. now cchecking to see if the codes work. im. turning them on and navigating back to free mcboot and hdLoader

    3rd edit: works

now for ps1 games. ever get gameshark to work with ps1 games?

i hear that some people use it for ps1 games but ive never tried it. since you have a fat ps2 i think you need a fliptop/swapcard or a modchip unless you wana wait for this project although i have no idea if that is ever getting done it does look cool though. a ps1 emulator for the ps2.

Do i need to plug my computer directly to my ps2 with my ethernet cable to transfer over the server? my computer is wireless and i have my ps2 wired in but im getting an unknown error. it says Ready on my ps2 screen with the IP displayed and the correct IP is also displayed on my computer

if you have it hooked to your router it is should work fine as long as you put in the correct ip into the program but I've never tried to copy stuff through a wireless connection though.

can i connect them directly, ps2 to computer?

im going to try my computer wired as well as my ps2 in just a minute

Edit: I wired into my computer, ps2 is on with screen displaying Ready and IP address, hdl dump displays correct IP address automatically but when i hit refresh list i just receive the same unknown error. Should i maybe reset my computer or something?

And i dont have a crossover cable, is that my problem? i have an ethernet cable going from my cable box/router to my ps2

is your firewall blocking it? either try to add it as an exception or turn off your firewall for a min. also if your connected to a router you don't need a cross over cable.

which firewall do you have? when i go to send the game to the ps2 my firewall asks me if i want to allow it.

I just got a crossover cable but I literally forgot why I bothered, what can I use it with? will it connect my ps2s network adapter to my computer for easier access, instead of using my router?

yeah i believe a crossover should work just as good as useing a router you just have to have the correct IP in the applications and unblock the program in your firewall or windows
