need help my cpu is a 2800+ but the bios reads a 2200+

    need help my cpu is a 2800+ but the bios reads a 2200+ and there is no mutiplier in my bios .i got ntune 2.5 and the motherboard will not overclock past 133 what can i do to get my fsb to 166 where it belongs

    could the processor lose power somehow and its failing and pretty soon i wont have anything.im also wondering if i have a axp 2800+ 333 barton can i replace it with a axp 3000+ 333 barton i have a au31 motherboard nf2 thanks for the help.im going crazy with the cpu dropping almost 500 mhz.it sucks all my games lag now.heres my specs OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

    check board site for possible newer bios update

    when i flash the bios will it change the bios so i change multiplier and volt.no update on site [motherboard]but there is alot of mods floating around to flash bios

    what is the make & model# of your motherboard so can look at the info? what is the bios version & not the award v6??

    Some boards require the fsb speed to be set physically via jumpers on the board. ie different jumper configurations give you 100mhz,133 and 166.
    Have a look at your user manuel see if thats the case with your motherboard.

    i found the upgrade bios .flash and running at 2800+.now the problem is alot of lag in games not online single player.like the cpu and mem isnt reading right.how should i set the mem timings 2\ 2.5\ 3 aggressive turbo please help.this overclocking is sort of a nightmare but if i can get it right it sould run fine right.

    i fixed everything myself thanks for the help anyway i took a 2800+ overclocked to a 3000+
