If it's the starview 4 usb box then it's quite simple to jtag it. You can buy the jtag in one piece. It's just a matter of opening up the box and connecting.
you need a max 232 interface they should have them in maplins or places like that and of course a null modem cable 9 pin to 9 pin and then up to date firmware and the correct gtrom loader.you need to open your box up and disconnect the connector from the usb socket at the back of the box and connect the max232 interface in to the same connection(this means now you can flash your box with your null modem cable)if your pc is a newer one then most likely you will need a serial to usb adaptor and software.
