need help picking out video editing software

    need some help picking out video editing software. i need somthing 200 dollars or below, has good features, and is easy to use(because im new at this) thank you to who ever gets back to me with some info

    For avi's, virtualdub (for simple cuts/splices), it's free.
    For mpg, try Cuttermaran, Mpeg2schnitt, mpeg2cut, all free.
    If you want transitions, fades and stuff, try the demo's of Vegas movie studio 4, Mainconcept EVE, Ulead dvd movie factory, or even Windows Movie maker.
    There are tons more, some good, some bad, costing anywhere from free to thousands.

    Does anyone know an easy way of converting WMM to an actual DVD that will play in my DVD??

    Encode it to mpeg-2 in tmpgenc.
