Hi i was wandering when backing up a ps2 game using DVD Decrypter you go to mode then choose iso read once thats done you go to iso write and you choose the MDS file??? But when you want to backup a game where u can play online i was told to use a program called winDIP this is where u have to patch the DNA$ located in the iso file once thats done and its time to burn the game when using DVD Decrypter you do the same procedure as indicated above but instead of the MDS file do u burn the image file cause thats the file you patched... is this correct... when using DVD Decrypter whats the difference between .MDS and .ISO... cause all this time i've been writing the .MDS file and it still works... cause awhile ago i found a guide that states to write the .MDS file until recently i came across another guide that states to write the .ISO image file... i already burned about 12 games using the .MDS file and it works... i guess i can reburn it again and use the .ISO image file but is there a difference between the two files... thanks

There is not really a difference between the 2. The mds file just contains info about the iso, but the results are the same. The only time that the mds file is real important is when you have a fat32 formatted hard drive and an image over 4 gigs (then you can only select the mds).
