Every time I try to secure my Netgear wireless network by entering a pass key to activate WEP I can no longer access the internet, then once I disable WEP the internet works again. Am I going about this the wrong way? Anyone got any ideas? I would be very grateful if anyone can help. Thanks.

change your SSID and than enable WEP, use ascii (letters) to type the password

If I change the SSID my signal goes and I can't connect. Do you mean only use the letters ascii and no others? I'm new to all this.
