I just brought a Panasonic Dvd-ES15, and my channels won't load automatically. I get a message saying "No channels were found"

I have just have Scientific Atlantic cable box (Adelphia)and RF Modulator. On the back of the cable box, all it has is a "output" and "input"

    What am I doing wrong?

On my es20 "which is similar," you have to manually enter one channel, even though you don't have a feed. It makes the player happy. Then select "in 1 main," which should be your cable box. Try to connect the cable box with the highest grade connection. Probably s-video, as is mine. I'll look up your specs and edit if I'm wrong. Or find anything that will help. CD.

I couldn't find anything different. If you've read any of my posts, I tend to be redundant and start from zero. I don't look at the member status, "because anyone can have a hangup or ask a question." Which in turn irritates some members. This is just a disclaimer. Enough of the veering from the subject. I don't know the outputs for your cable box. They will be, 1. Coaxial cable. 2. Composite yellow rca video, red rca audio, and white rca audio. 3. S-Video round 4 pin with rectangle plastic plug it's a single cable, you will need a separate rca audio cable for sound. If you have component outputs, red, green, blue, HDTV box. That is a horse of a different color. I identified these in quality of output. To get the best out of your recorder select the highest. The panasonic is a really good recorder, but pass through from the source-recorder-t.v. is not great. You probably will notice signal degredation. If you have two outputs from your cable box, this would be the best way to go. One to the t.v. One to the recorder. This is my setup. Playback is great with component outputs with progressive scan enabled. It is the way to go if your t.v. has the component inputs. I tried to hit all of the high notes. If you want more detailed instructions, feel free to PM me. I know the mods would rather the solution be posted on the forum, but there can be a lot of detail. And maybe they don't want to read all of the info just to make sure I don't stub my toe and cuss. HA.

i have the E20SD and as i'm in UK i have 'Freeview' digital tuner built in. i'll have to dig out the manual as i've quite a few bits of kit interconnected and it gives me a headache working out what's where.
@codydog - there's no need for you to make a meal of your posts, we're not that bad :)
