My problem was I was running ME the first time I tried to flash. Plus I was trying to convert my Memorex to read as a true Pioneer 106D. I had Xp so I finally upgraded to get the flash to work. To make sure nothing went wrong I disconnected my other extra drives leaving only the dvd hooked up. Didn't change the letter and it was (E) drive. The firmware found it without a problem. Guess I was lucky on both parts. I first had to change the name, then flash to unlock the drive. I read the instructions before about the letter change but it worked for me without that.

    hi there

yes this firmware thing is starting to get a real pain?

theres not much left to try except what you say about take drives off and try.
I have the pionneer on primary master on its own i thought it would be ok?
as i have SATA raid HD's 2x maxtors so dont use eide channels for HD

    ide-1 primary master = pioneer 106
    ide-1 secondary master = EMPTY
    ide-2 primary slave = liteon 52/24/52
    ide-2 secondary slave = samsung dvd 48x/12x
    SATA-1 maxtor hd
    SATA-2 maxtor hd

Thx - will keep on it!

Glad you got it working. I was thinking the Sata card was interfering. Your snap shot of the flash was normal looking up to the error. Guess you never know with this stuff. Later.
