    HI gang-

My father bought a dvd recorder that hooks up to his tv,vcr, dvd player, and camcorder, and so on. He made some vacation and home videos on these DVD-R's and I went to try to play them on my DVD player drive on my pc and it won't play it. and when I open up my computer to see what the drive says it say audio cd which is not right.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone

    I have a similar problem - for both DVD+R's and DVD+RW's.
The recorded DVD plays fine in the DVD player it was recorded in as well as other DVD players - BUT it refuses to play on any of my PC based DVD drives (I have tried three different ones).
Yes, I have 'finalized' (DVD+R) and 'made compatible' (DVD+RW) the DVD after recording it in the player. PowerDVD 5 refuses to recognize the DVD (Error message: 'A disc with an unsupported format in Drive e:')
Can anybody help? Thanks in advance
