If you have a DV Camcorder then you are Not Working with Mpeg-1 files or at least you shouldn"t because a DV Camcorder Records in DV AVI format.....

You can use a Free Program Like "WinDV" or "DVIO" to Transfer the Video from your DV Camcorder to your PC in DV AVI format....

After you have Transfered the DV AVI File from the Camcorder you will have to encode the Files to the Correct format for DVD which is Mpeg-2 at 720+480 For NTSC or 720+576 for Pal, a good But rather Slow encoder for doing this is called "Tmpgenc Pluss"....

After you have encoded your DV AVI files to the Correct DVD Compliant mpeg-2 format you have to use a DVD authoring Program so you can add your Menu"s and Chapters and to Burn the DVD...A super Simple Program to use for this is Called "Tmpgenc DVD Author" but I prefer "MediaChance DVDLab Pro" which is a Little More Complex but makes Nicer DVD"s......

If you want something super simple to encode and author the DVD then Maybe check out "VSO DivXtoDVD" but it"s Quality isn"t nearly as good as with the other Method but it is a Lot Faster but you don"t have any menu"s or Chapters....

    Cheers

After you have your DVD Compliant Mpeg-2 files you Have to use a DVD Authoring Program to add your Menu"s and Chapters and then Burn it to DVD...

Try "Tmpgenc DVD Author" or "MediaChance DVDLab"......
