Hi guys - I have a serious problem and am hoping some of you can help. I was away at a special memorial in Poland celebrating the 60th anniversary of liberation of the concentration camps there. I was filming an interview with a camp survivor with my new Nikon camera, a pretty cool device that takes MOV files. Unfortunately I may not have seen the indicator not to pull out the card (switching to a new one) while it was saving and ended up truncating the movie I guess. All others are playable except for this 228MB quicktime MOV file which does not play. In Media Play Classic I get the following error message: Failed to render file In Quicktime I get the following: Couldn't open the file DSCN0945.MOV because it is not a file that QuickTime understands. Now I have seen many open these files - it does contain data and is 228MB - but using imovie or final draft express, two applications I don't have. Others have been able to rename the file to a .dv to extract the audio and video. For several reasons this has not worked for me although I'm happy to try any piece of software you can suggest. Since this is such a special file, I'd really go the extra mile to extract what I have which should be pretty substantial. If suggestions don't work I have put the file up at http://www.jsoul.com/files/DSCN0945.MOV for download. Heck, I don't care of the bandwidth costs either and would appreciate it greatly if someone can help me with this or I'll even pay if need be. As you can understand, it's pretty special and for some of you it may even have some sentimental value as well. Thanks so much in advance for any recommendations and assistance, Slink
The URL of the MOV file again, if anyone is interested and will download, is at jsoul.com/files/DSCN0945.MOV -- Thanks much in advance.
