I just bought a Cool Sat 5000 platinum, and i am trying to get it going, can anyone help me with setting it up and how to connect the receiver to my laptop cause the chord it came with doesn't fit any plugs on my laptop, can someone please help me.
If your laptop doesn't have a 9 pin serial port, you'll have to buy something like I had to. Radio Shack sells a serial to USB cord that comes with an installation disc (driver). That's what I had to do! Take note of which usb port you use the first time (installing). The cord won't recognize you trying to use it on any of the other usb ports. What your cabling configuration, which satellite(s), and your location, all determine your settings in the install menu.
