Hey, I am trying to make a vcd from an avi file. THe file is about 680mb and I want to make a vcd that will playback in a DVD player. I select the VCD tab and I drag the file, but near the bottom where it shows how much space the movie is going to take up, It goes WAY over 80min and it ends up at a file that is over 1gig. I want to know is there any way to make a vcd thaat will playback in DVD players w/ a 680mb file without splitting the file into two. I also had another avi that was only like 300mb and it barely fit on a cdr. Any other methods or guides would be really helpful.
Ok first off if your DVD player and writer can write a HD-CD then your sweet just create a HD-VCD which you can do from within Nero. But if you cant do that, then you have to split the file. Because with a VCD you can only get 80mins of video on on one or 99mins if you have a 99min cdr . But a HD-VCD you can get 160mins :-D. What you want to do is convert the file with TMPG Enc then split it down the middle, its the only way its going to work.
