I haven't burned any movies in a while. i tryed to burn one the other day it paused during reading the movie. i uninstalled and reinstalled the disk drive and more problems. now it takes forever for it to read the movie and doesn't even complete reading. it pops up an error message. since i haven't been burning movies for a while now i'm not sure what to do to fix it. also if i was to uninstall my dvdxplatinum, would i be abel to reinstall it or will the activation code or password still work.
hammhalk, If you are using DVD Xcopy Plat. then that is the problem. They are out of business so the software can not decrypt the newer movies as the program has not been updated in almost 2 years. Suggest you use Freeware ( DVDFAB Decrypter to rip to HD then use DVDShrink to compress and then DVDDecrypter to burn the .iso file DVDShrink creates.) Those 3 programs are far superior to the program you have. Since the company is out of business then there are no activations
hammhalk, Once you get the programs set up then it really is easy to use. Below is a guide you can use. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup with DVDFABDecrypter,Shrink,&Decrypter.pdf DVDFAB Decrypter: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm DVDShrink: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm DVDDecrypter: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ You can also use AnyDVD and CloneDVD but they cost $$
or you can get the new freeware and it incorporates DVDDecrypter, FixVTS, and Shrink and it does a great job: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110, just download the programs.... and follow the guide and you can't go wrong! I know it's DVDXCopy Plat that is the problem, but it's still a good idea to make sure your DMA is enabled. If it isn't this could cause a very big slow down!
