What exactly is the message, is it not somthing like "this program has preformed an illegal operation"?
It should say the file in the error message window....

When that message comes up, it should show itself in a window or a message box, is there a file that it says is causing the problem?

if you have xp you can try to restore to a previous date.if you cant cause it comes up the minute you see desktop.you might be able to repair windows with the restore disk or floppy.the one you got when you bought windows or the manu restore disc or floppy.the pc is infected, probably from limewire.my kids screw up there pc, once a week[lol].if you can restore to a previous date,i would copy all important data you want on a cd-r.then restore the whole pc back to the original settings[like when u bought it]i would also fdisk the hard drive to make sure the virus was erased from disk, and then do a clean windows reinstall.hope this helps man peace

hey man, what modem do u have?...robotics,etc...then you have to go to manufactors site and get drivers...burn on cd bring home install on pc...maybe you have a friend with a online hookup.pain in the butt.or when you got the hardware did it come with pc?or did u buy seperate?if you bought separate ,you have to have a drivers disc or floppy.reinstall drivers.if already in pc when you bought it.format hard drive to erase anything that may have corrupted your pc.formatting+fdisk in dos.then reinstall the original windows and drivers you got when you bought the pc.hope this helps.if your online talking you should be able to download the drives from the manufactors site online.need the make and model of telephone modem then look online ,download drivers.the make\model should be on pci card in pc where you hook up the telephone line..... seek and you shall find...lol
