I'm new to Nero Recode 2. I've heard good things about it, so I'm trying it out. Does it rip, and then burn the file for you too? I currently use Shrink to rip and Nero to burn. Would Nero Recode 2 do both for you one after the other? If so, how do I do it? I tried ripping, which I did successfully I think, then I tried to burn it, and it didn't work. I saw I ripped, what looked like, a quicktime logo...mpeg or mp4? I'm only use to burning an ISO file, so this is new to me. Please help. AIM: Hockeman21 Thanks Mike
mcelano83: Nero is only used in the burning process. You will still need to use Shrink and DVDFab Express along with another program or two if you are making backups of movies. Now if it is just files that you are concerned about then Nero can handle it all. For example: Movie backup. I have AnyDVD, DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter (although it is not updated anymore), DVDFab Decrypter, PgcEdit, and a couple of other programs to handle my needs. Most of the time with AnyDVD running I can open and shrink a movie, then run it through DVDFab, and then burn the file with Nero recode. If you are concerned about burning files then you have no problem.
@syxguns, This is in fact NOT the case, Nero Recode can be used for backing up DVDs, all you need is a program such as AnyDVD running to break any copyprotection Select what you want to do, then Import files from DVD and go from there.
@tmfloria Does Recode shrink files. I only ask because you said that it could be used in place of Shrink. If it does, I'll give it a try.
@syxguns, heres a link you might like to check out, Pete has used Nero Recode with DVDDecrypter, but I use AnyDVD http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/petesguide5.html
@ gwendolin, Does this take the decryption out of the picture? As I have AnyDVD but still sometimes have to run DVDFab to keep the picture from skipping and so forth.
yes it does it's used just like DVD Shrink and in fact is created by the creator of DVD Shrink but it's a better program.. of course like Shrink the copy protection must be removed with Anydvd or Dvd Fab Decrypter as gwendolin has mentioned
@ gwendolin Where do you host your images? Mine aren't showing in my sig any longer. I am currently hosting at galaxybay.com. I am dissapointed in there service. I'll check out that web site you just sent. Thank you.
AnyDVD will remove almost any presently known encryptions...providing you have the latest version. Nero Recode is an EXCELLENT prog, I recommend it highly. Mine are hosted by Photobucket @syxguns, I notice you are using IMG...should be lower case img
