NEED HELP WITH CD GAMES

    I need help with cd based games, I could play them if I don't have the HDD equipped to my PS2 but when I do equip my PS2 with the Sony HHD, I only get red screen saying "Please insert a PlayStation or PlayStation 2 format disc"........plz help

    Then take out the HDD when you play them.... it's simple really.
