I have an m3 and a passkey2. The m3 works fine for gba, but I cant get ds games to play with the passkey2. I have programmed it to use my game, mario kart ds. I can boot it up and select a game, but the game will never load. I have tried: new mario bros castlevania dawn of sorrow mario kart ds (even though it is the same as the loader) It says loading, shows the red bar, then goes to a black screen. My ds modle number is ntr-001 and is blue/black. Do I need to update the passkey or something?
Yes, I have tried trimming, not trimming, fast boot, normal, and direct. I have tried many combonations of them and it is still a black screen. Could changing it to 4xdma fix it? What about enabling sofware reset? What does the same method for all games check mean? I have also tried downloading the roms from another source, but no luck.
I don't use software reset for any games, so try not using that. The same method for all games is if your copying over sevral games at the same time, it will just use the same settings for each game instead of asking each time. I would try using 4x DMA, espescially for Castlevania as that requires to be directly read from the CF card. Also, do you have a DS Lite or an original DS? What M3 do you have, and do you have the latest firmware (E21) for your M3?
I have a normal black/blue ds that I bought yesterday (6/10/06). My M3 is SD and I just upgraded my m3 firmware, tried advance wars ds and nintendogs, and they both go to the same black screen. Both screens just turn off, but the power light is still on. This is a newer ds. Is it possible that it has the firmware that prevents using the passkey2? If so, how do I get around this? I have tried 4x dma, but it is still the same. Every setting I try is the same. I had software reset off, so that wasn't causing the problem. I am thinking it is the DS having new firmware. Any help would be appriciated.
If there was something blocking the passkey2 from working you would not be able to load the M3 into DS mode to even try and load the DS games. try going to http://www.m3-forum.com You might be able to find your answer there.
