Hey wats up I just installed a executer in my xbox and when I went to look at my LED the lights for the chip the green light won't come on.The modchip is getting power but do you all think there is a problem with my dO point.I have tried wiggling the chip around and it aint working haven't seen any green light come up at all (isn't it suppose to turn on when you disable the modchip).I also read that if it is the dO point that means my Xbox is pretty much garbage.I am having a hard time figuring out what the problem is.If anybody could help out I would appreciate it.
have you tried lightly scraping (be careful) the d0 area? use a razorblade (lightly), or a fiberglass pen. I went out to a guys house for whome I modded an xbox, he was having the problem of it going off as soon as he switched it on (was the Lpt or the d0) it turns out it was his d0 too, what I did (it was solderless chip) is solder a wire to the d0 point, and then to the top of the pin, worked first time. I stopped using solderless mods, you get a FAR better connection with solder mods. in your case, if you arent familar or decent at soldering, the best thing to do is lightly scrape the area not only on of the d0, but the bottom of the pogo pin too, as the area is so small, even dust, grease etc can cause a bad connection. Dont wiggle around the chip too much if its a 2.3, when its tight, as the pogo pins can scrape the board and cause problems. Another thing you COULD do is make the screw hole wider, this way you can align the modchip board not only up and down, but pull it back and forth to a degree too, this also works. Good luck
Sweet bajesus thank the lord I got it working. Thanks alot and I mean a ton man.I went and scraped the dO point with a razor blade and it worked (all I did was just stick the tip of the blade in the little dO point hole and wiggled it a lil bit).I also scraped the pogo pins also as you suggested.Hell yeah was feeling kinda pissed off but now I feel alot better.
