I recently softmodded my xbox and everything went fine and i have an evox dash. When i installed the softmod i made a backup of the xbox dash but it would not let me sign on to xbox live so i went to my memory and deleted all of the linux files and the things i did not have before. I still have my evox dash but it will not let my go to the regular dash when i go over the link that says microsoft dash or whatever it just skips it. If someone nows how to get the dash back i would really appreciate it.

ok can you still get to the screen that says create ms backup, install softmod etc... if you can go to that screen by turning your xbox off then pressing the big button to open the disk tray and you should get it. as long as you made a backup of your ms dash you can restore by selecting restore ms dash. then your all set

I'll try to explain a bit about how softmods work...All your dash at the moment is in a folder on your E:\ drive called Dashboard..this is pointed to by the xboxbook.xtf file on C:\..This boots your evox and sets up a virtual C:\ drive and cons the box into ignoring the real contents of C:\ What's happened is when you have deleted certain files..one of the ones that has gone is the link to where the ms dash on C:\ is...open the evox.ini file with a text editor and there will be a path statement somewhere pointing to the location of the ms dash files..make sure it points at C:\...but I think you may still have problems. The uninstall hasn't worked properly and I don't want to advise you to delete everything on E:\ because the results can be unpredictable to say the least. Try booting a newish live enabled game and instead of playing it go to the updates section and select update...with some luck that will restore the dash files on C:\ Otherwise use slayers and do a "restore to factory" and before rebooting do the update with a live disk...was it the mechassault exploit by any chance??

Just a funny thought...sort of thinking aloud if you will..

If you still have splinter cell try reloading the exploit save

Or, and this is a goodie..if you can ftp use extract xiso to pull the slayers disk(the downloaded iso) apart and transfer the files that you find in the C:\ folder onto (they're the MS ones..not evox dash and evox ini) the xbox C:\ drive..that should solve all the problems...though there isn't any guarantee, it all depends how messed up it is ..the only really sure way of curing it is to buy a chip and get a working slayers (and a big harddrive while you're at it) lol

I burned the disc speed at 4x because that is as low as it goes.

well you can if you really want to spend 40$ and up, or you can go teh smart route and get a duox 2 for about 10-15$ there very reliable, I use them to fix all the boxes sent to me.
