Hi i also just got the starview the box 4 usb set top today, i have installed it and it has found the channels but they seem to be locked? i use to have the starview 1 box and you had to put code 1570 at menu in to get to secret menu and nagrivision, this doesnt seem to work on my new box? is there a new code? any help will be nice.
How do i get to type new numbers in on line 00 and 01?

you got the cable in the correct input at the back? Are you paying for a cable service?

To load the files just drag them on to a memory stick make sure box is not plugged in and then put the memory stick in the USB port at the back of the receiver.
Then press the menu button on the remote there you will see USB
at the bottom of the screen.
Just highlight USB with the remote then you will see the
(Box Super USB Bin file) appear on the screen.
Highlight the Box Super USB Bin File with the remote and press the ok button then you will see the file start loading in to the Box.
Do not touch the remote or the box for at least 30 seconds after the box has rebooted otherwise you will end up with a dead box displaying 8882 on the display

not paying for a cable service, but there is one that comes into the house, it's called diamond cable and the box is brown outside. when i connent the cable straight into the tv without any box or freeview. it does come up with few tv channels. i have installed the firmware onto the box, but wud try in again. to i need to factory reset it i.e factory default before putting thr firmware onto the box. thanks

thats why yer not getting anything, you dont have a digital feed when ya scan, I never heard of Diamond cable, you dont state where ya are

if ya dont have a digital feed coming in then it wont work and if yer not paying for a cable sub and hooked up hooky, its not done right and its not something I am getting into

yes Rano, to the letter mate, make sure its a BIN file you are putting onto the memory stick and not RAR or ZIP, once on, follow the above and do not touch the box until its switched off and comes back on, then scan for the channels

seen, am in leicester(east midlands) a friend did tell me that the diamond cable is meant to be the old ntl or something. not too sure what u meant by "hooked up hooky" plus i didn't realise that u had to be payind for a cable sub. thought that was the whole point of the box. so if that's the case do i get a cable sub and how do i go about doing this or wha wud b u're advise on wha to do next

if yu are not paying anything for even a basic cable, normal chans, you wont get anything on the box, thats why it looks like the box wont work as no digital feed. if someone has hooked up a cable, well.....

Just on a off chance, what provider are you selecting when scanning? Select NTL and then autoscan and see if yer getting something

nope, has to be a digital cable feed, not aeriels, dishes etc, it seems to me that you dont have a proper cable feed coming in, if you subscribe to the basic service and get hooked up, the box will work
