Hey there, what i would like to know is, if you have a movie with a size over 4.7GB, ie lord of the rings, how do you backup the movie so it fits onto one dvd instead of 2? i know about strippin off all the rubbish, but the actual movie file is over 4.7GB. any help would be appreciated.

    cheers

Dvdxcopy will work. I also hear about dvd2one. Finally, you could do it with dvddecrypter/ifoedit (use the split to 2 dvd's option/ and then your burner program. There are guides at this site re: the ifoedit settings you'd use.

Rip the movie then download DVD2One. Make another folder and "encrypt" the files and then try DVDXCopy to burn. I don't own a dvd burner but have tested DVD2One and it shrinks the vob files so you can burn to a 4.7 gig DVD-R. I've also read at other forums you don't lose any video quality by "encrypting" the vob files.

DVD95COPY - keeps all the extras and menus apparently but compresses them as much as possible so that the movie can fit. I dont know what the encoding quality is like though http://www.dvd95copy.com
