I was searching through the forums and haven't found any topics on this problem so I was hoping anyone would be able to help me. Recently while I was trying to transfer files from my Desktop to my Laptop via the WD 500gb Essential edition external HD, it fell from one foot while I was connected to my laptop, then just completely shut down from there. The big problem I have is that the taskbar can read the drive and I can disconnect it if need be, however, when I go to My Computer, it does not show up anymore. I need help with either recovering the files or just the drive as a whole. If anyone can help me as soon as possible I would be extremely greatful. Thanks ahead of time.
