I keep getting a "Disc Error" message right when the burning process is about to finish. When I take out the Blank DVD I'm burning to, I can play it on any DVD Player, but it freezes at about 1:50 into the 2:00 program. This has happened 3 consecutive times, all at about the same point in the process. Please help.

Dma is off on both your burners see the guide on here how to enable it,use the search.....

    CdRomPeripheral : TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182D atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off
    CdRomPeripheral : TSSTcorp CDRW/DVD TSH492B atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: Off
DiskPeripheral : ST380013AS atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On

Also don't copy on the fly less change off any errors if you copy to the hardrive first

Thanks for your help - I seem to have a problem turning the DMA on. I follow the instructions, but then when I'm done burning, I see that DMA is off.

Can you burn disk's OK now? Check your bios first and make sure dma is enabled in the bios. What make is your motherboard, I've had Nero report in the past that dma was off, even though it was on.Mainly when I've had Asus boards, also with nivida chipset setups.

So far, so good. I don't know how to check the BIOS or how to determine the make of my Motherboard.

I have two Primary IDE Channels. One says

    Device Type: Auto-Detection
    Transfer Mode: DMA If Available
    Current Transfer Mode: Not Applicable

The other Primary IDE Channel says:
    Device Type: Auto-Detection (greyed out)
    Transfer Mode: DMA If Available
Current Transfer Mode: PIO Mode (greyed out)

    I don't have a Secondary IDE Channel.

My PC is pretty old as well, at least four years old, probably more. I do a lot of burning and would like to do more Video Editing. Are there any PC's that have a reputation for error-free burning, for people like me who can't figure out what ther errors actually are?

Forgot to say using good quality disk's is always a good start
Verbatim,Ritek what brand of disk's are you using? In your log it says "cmc" I'm sure folk on here say they are rubbish.

Mostly I use Verbatim, but I also buy Maxell and Memorex because they are the only 2 that won't cause any issues with my Panasonic DVD Recorder. If I use any other brand, about a minute into recording the machine will stop and I'll get a "check disk" message. I know Memorex is probably considered pretty low-end, but it is extremely frustrating when you have to record something five times or more before it actually works.
