So I just finished downloading a torrent filled with .rar files and when i extracted the contents all i got was this 4.6gb .iso file. I tried extracting the .iso to see if it contained separate disc images but all it had in it were these files:

    BOOT, BOOT(Security Catalog), BOOT0, BOOT1H, BOOT1U, BOOTHELP(TXT), CDBOOT and CHAIN0

I don't know what to do with any of it! Maybe it's a DVD image, but the computer i'm putting it on doesn't have a dvd-drive. ANY HELP APPRECIATED!!! THANKS!

    Hello onlychild,

Is this file a Windows .iso file? If so, the Mac OS X Tiger torrent you downloaded may be intended for a x86 Windows computer.

If you want to mount the file on your Mac,

    1. Create an empty .dmg file with Mac OS X's Disk Utility.

    2. Open the .iso file and copy the contents to the .dmg file.

However, if you plan on installing this Mac OS X Tiger torrent on a Mac, you will need to burn this file to a DVD becasue the installer requires you to switch discs (i.e. eject the DVD and reinsert it) during the installation.

    Regards.

To answer your first question, I know that it's a mac .iso. What I wasn't sure of is if I burn the image onto a DVD will the CD-drive be able to read it? I currently am running OS X 10.3 on the computer, and I'll first try mounting it like you said. THanks!
