My brother just got the Final Fantasy Advent Children DVD. It's Japanese so we need a region 2 dvd player. The way we are going to get around this problem is by making a backup on the DVD and burning it as region 1. My quetion is; beucase my comupter is region 1, can i rip a region 2? I heard that i could change my comupter settings to region 2, but is that going to mess up my comupter? Or how else would I get this to work? Thanks a lot.
Use DVDDecrypter to make it region free. It will now be so it can be played in any NTSC region DVD Player. You bigger problem might be if it is in PAL format. If it is then you will need to convert to NTSC
Hmm, did not know Decrypter would change region codes, however, DVD Shrink (free, also found here @ aD) for sure will change region codes. Good luck, Rich
