My sister bought me a Samsung dvr 4130 for Christmas, but I have absolutely no clue of how to install it! I'm no tech wizard but I'm also no dummy, I have installed many of PC DVD-R's successfully, but hooking a burner up to the TV is a whole new ball game for me!

    Here;'s where I stand :
I have the recorder hooked up to where it play's dvd's just like a normal player, but it will not record. I will let me record the TV show and act as if it is recording, but when the show is over and I go to play the new dvd, I get a black screen. The recorder counts the length as if everything is perfect, but there is no picture! The red record light comes on and the dvd sopace is used up, but no picture.

Used to I could would hook my VCR or DVD player up to the TV itself, but our Cable Co. has issued us cable boxes with Tivo like functions to recieve the digital picture. This is where I'm getting confused! I suppose hooking the up my Samsung DVR to the new cable box would be just like hooking it up to the satellite receiver box.

Has anyone had experience with this? Please Help if you can!

    Thank you! JR Denn
