    I have:

    HDTV
    Harmon/Kardon 347 Receiver
Scientific Atlanta 8300HD Set Top Box
    Sony DVD Player

I have HDMI cables from the Set Top Box and DVD Player
going into the 347 Receiver. Another HDMI to the HDTV.

What can I do or change to get the best sound from this setup ? ? ?

    Thanks

Aside from upgrading the eqpt and interconnects, you have it as good as it's going to get.

I must admit, that reply has me stumped.

Upgrade the eqpt ? Its all brand new, and good stuff.
the interconnects ? What would be a better way to conect
    the components ? ? ? ?

You really do have it about as good as you're going to get it.

Since you didn't say in the original post, that it was new equipment, I'm sure he was thinking that maybe one of HK's higher end receivers, and higher end connects (more expensive), might help.

I'm one that believes a $300 cable doesn't sound any better than a $30 cable. In fact, there's a guy that will give you a million dollars, if you can prove a $300 cable sounds better than a $30 cable. Here's a bit about that:

If you're not happy with the sound, of what you have, it's more than likely a speaker issue with you. Speakers make the biggest difference in how something sounds. You didn't list what speakers you have.

Maybe you're happy with the sound, and just wondering if it can be better? It can always be better, if you have the money, and are willing to spend it. HT equipment is like computers. You can buy the newest stuff, and by the time you get home with it, something new and better has come out!
Good luck, and enjoy your new stuff!
As long as it puts a smile on your face, I wouldn't worry about it.)
