hi everyone. i recently downloaded a DVD movie (a video_ts folder) which contains only english Closed Caption. but the problem is, when i use powerdvd to play the files on my computer, the closed caption appears AT THE TOP instead of at the bottom, like other movies do.

Does anyone know how to PERMANENTLY set the closed caption of this movie to appear at the BOTTOM as default?

i have a software called ifoedit but i m not sure if it can help.

    thanks very much, everyone.

Important that you make a copy of the VIDEO_TS folder and run DVDSubEdit.

'File' > 'Open full Domain' and select VTS_01_1.VOB
Select the sub stream (top right).
Step through the subs, adjust the vertical location on one, then 'Edit' > 'Apply last modification to all'.
This should adjust the position for all subs in the stream.
    Step through them and verify.
    'File' > 'Save all modifications'.

In DVDSubEdit the caption was at the top, you moved it to another location and it didn't stick after saving?

in the preview screen, it already showed that the caption was at the blocation before i altered anything.

after i used the arrows to move it further downwards. it wont stick after saving.

Does using a different player (VLC) make a difference.

The only way I can see the subtitles not being able to be moved, is if the subtitle 'background' is in fact the whole frame (as opposed to an area around the subs).
If you load the title, select the subs and choose 'b' in the drop-down menu of the 'subpic color/transparency' section, then move the slider to
'opaque', only the area around the subs should show up.
If the whole screen turns opaque - then you cannot move them.

If this was the case, you could use the OCR feature to save a .srt file then (eventually) to mux it into the DVD.
