Hi, I recently bought a H.32x pci video capture card from ebay and was having trouble with it. It seems that every time I try to capture, the system either locks up totally or the mouse pointer disappears. Upon testing it on another system, it seemed to work fine. My current setup is a Celeron 300A with 128 megs RAM, NVidia Riva TNT2 M64 with 32 megs of memory, and a Sound Blaster 64 PCI. Is there anyone out there with a similar problem or someone who could help me?

I posted this exact same thing a couple pages ago on this forum. My problom was that it wasn't pushed all the way into the pci slot. (I had to bend the metal tab back to get it in) Hopefully it came with the drivers, if not I can give you them. Most programs to capture video don't work for me and the only one that did was windows movie maker. I also got it to work in virtualdub, but only if I let it encode in divx, which screwed up the quality.
Anyway, just try installing it again or using a different capturing program.

Update: I managed to find some drivers, and the card is working correctly now. I solved the problem by reassigning some IRQs, evidently the card's kinda iffy. So, from this and some other threads, i can ascertain this:

    1. The card is iffy about capture programs (i use WMM and the bundled VIDCAP)

    2. The card likes to be as near the AGP port as possible.

    3. It needs it's own IRQ.

    4. It works better with Windows ME (which is a personal opinion, I guess)

Despite this, i realized the card still pretty much sucks it, quality wise. So, caveat emptor i guess, ya get what you pay for. Now i can get back to capturing my skate footage. :D

Same here. I also use WMM, everything else usually crashes and I had to disable my comm ports in bios to get it to work! Also try using Avi I/O and be sure to get virtual dub.

Try moving the card to a different slot, that should work.. make sure it's in there securely!
