Okay! Yes, I am old, but not dead. I do have an issue with a movie that I downloaded. I see that it is a video_ts folder with vob, etc; files in it and I would normally just burn it with nero. The problem is my dvd+-rw's are junk. Can't get the TDK's to erase (the ones I've screwed up). So is it possible to split a video_ts file and burn the two equal parts onto VCD? My CD-R's work great. I have done this with AVI's and then burned them to VCD. Is the same possible with Video_TS? Or, can I just watch the dang movie on my PC?

You can use DVD2SVCD freeware. You need some kind of mpeg encoder to use with it. You can download TMPGEnc Plus trial version. TMPGEnc Plus is one of the encoders DVD2SVCD knows how to use.

Check the web for DVD2SVCD user guides. The main thing though, is unless you're a stickler for quality you want to change some of the default settings so that the conversion doesn't take all night long. :)
But the guides should explain all the options. Before I got a DVD burner I used DVD2SVCD to burn movies to 2 SVCDs and they came out looking fine on my stand-alone DVD player so I think you'll be happy with the output providing the DVD files are decent to start with.
    (how's that for a run-on sentence?) :)
