I put a Knoppix Live-CD in my CD drive and booted knoppix off the CD, it worked fine. I then created a patition with Partition Magic 8.0. After rebooting it created the patition and rebooted again, and now it says "ERROR loading operating system" after the BIOS check, RAM check, etc.

    Please help!!!

If it's any help I have WinXP Home (SP2).

I'm thinking about using a XP boot disk to by pass the error. If that don't work then install another copy of XP. I want to try to install windows XP has long as my second HDD doesn't loose data. I know my first HDD will be formated, but my second hard drive has all my back-up's and song's! (haven't burned yet!)

Which harddrive did you make the partition on (new or old)?
(If old) Did you delete a partition? I assume you were using all of your HDD so there wouldn't be room to create a new partition without removing the old one. Once you remove a partition the data is lost and you have to format the partition for it to become operational again.

could disable the 2nd hd in the bios or disconnect the data cable from the drive.
