I have been given the task of creating a dvd for my high school that will be sold to the students. The dvd will be of video of them through the year. But there's one part of it with music and i have been told it breaks the copyright of the cd i got it off. Is there anyway i can use music off of cd's on my dvd.

Honestly I wouldn't worry about it. I think probably every high school in America (or wherever you're from) makes a end of the year video using copyrighted music, and gets away with it. Even if its sold to the students, its not like this video is going to be publically released or anything. And you're really not 100% breaking the law. You are allowed to use copyrighted video and film for school projects (trust me, I teach audio at a college) as long as the projects are not released, and for learning/teaching purposes only. So there's a fine line there. I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you want to pay thousands in royalties, or find someone to create original music for you, which won't be cheap either.
