I have a Mac G4 w/ dual proc. 80 gig HD, 40 gig 2nd HD, 768 RAM; Pioneer DVR-104 DVD-R drive and DVD Extractor. Goal: Make a back ups of my DVD movie collection.

    1) With the equip. I have can I rip - create an identical copy, menu and all, of my Taxi Driver DVD?

    2) If not, which VIDEO TS (actual movie) files do I use?

    3) Can I use DVD Studio Pro to view the VIDEO TS (.m2v) files from the orig. DVD so that I can see what video I am backing up?

    4) What program do I use, after I have successfully ripped the necessary files, to
burn my DVD-R? DVD Studio Pro?

Thanks sooooo much in advance for any help.

I'm not a Mac owner, so I'm writing this after flicking through this Mac DVD Rip FAQ:

Anyway, if you have demuxed the VOB into m2v and ac3 files, the authoring sw (DVD Studio Pro) should allow you to view them.

I remember that Taxi Driver was less than 4.5G in size, so you can probably just make an image of the entire DVD via DVD Extractor, then burn it via Toast. You can easily preserve the menus then.
