im living in a dorm and the conection is really bad. the eathernet goes straight from a wall jack to my pc. is there anything i can do to conect it through the phone line somehow. or maybe connect a router to the phone line , then to my pc. try to find a way to make the internet connection go faster at the college im in. thx
First off, how bad is the connection? Is it disconnecting at random, dropping off? What is the connection speed you're getting? What is the college's connection speed (T1, T3)? Inform the person in charge of your dorm. Ask them to see if they can get the IT people to check the lines. See if they can narrow down the problem. It might not be just you, it could be a wider problem.
