Need Mobo help

    Hi just bought the sapphire 3870 x2 and now really need a new motherboard that supports PCI express 2.0 or this card will just be almost pointless. I'm currently using the Abit p5b-vm. Want the cheapest solution really but want it as good or better than the p5b-VM socket LGA775. thanx guys

    oh needs to be Q6600 compatible... not a huge overclocker but be nice to try sometime... thanx

    The card is as pretty much as fast with PCIe v1 as with v2.0 - there isn't a lot of difference.

    Hehe no worries. Whilst you might see a small gain by going to PCIe 2.0, it's not worth getting a new motherboard just for that. If you want to up your overclocking prowess though, consider a new board anyway.
