My first try would be to contact the network if you have been with them long enough. Sometimes you will get lucky and get the code from them. You may want to say you're going to the UK or Canada and you'll need to use your phone on a different network or look in your local phone book for a privately owned electronics and or phone repair shop and ask if they have the hardware to unlock your model. You're looking at an average cost of $25 to $75 and $25 would be very cheap!
