I need your opinions.....what program do I use/best program to use so i can access my desktop with my laptop..... Also... If I use Microsoft Vista to run my computer...can I install microsoft XP and uninstall Vista without loosing my files??
MarkDaMan- It appears that you made a double post. maybe you should edit the other one and blank it out. Now I have a question to ask. Are you wanting to access the files on your desktop or are you wanting to view your desktop? If you are wanting to view your desktop then you will need a VPN connection. If you are going to use a VPN connection you will need you desktop set up like a Proxy server. However, if you are just desiring to get files from your desktop then the question is: How are you looking for them? Try looking under C:\Documents and Settings\"whatever the user name is and without the quotes"\Desktop The next question you asked was about overwriting Vista with XP. Personally I don't think that can be done. What you would need to do is to back up all of your files, format your HD, re-install XP. You would need to re-install all of your programs but you would have all of your files saved. Your other choice would be to make a partition in Vista and put XP on the other partition. I do not suggest this because it uses too much of your HD space. Some people like to do it. I however, read what I can and can't do with Vista and have voted against it.
