need password IBM thinkpad

    i reciently inherited a ibm think pad and i need a bios password so i can enter and see what my brother had in it and reprogram it. is there any way possible IBM whants me to send the machine and prof of perches and thnat is going to be a little inpossable didnt inherite the reciet

    ask your brother what the password is or check the laptop manual on resetting the bios which will clear the password.

    wish i could he died not to long ago .but that was the easy way now i needthe hard way

    thought so, sorry. check user manual about cmos battery replacement because disconnect that battery not the power battery will reset the bios to default mode & no password. usually under leftside of keyboard.
