i am trying to copy a dvd o mine for a *backup* when i play it using windows media players or VLC media player is works fine and the video and audio are syncronized, but when i go into nero 7 premium and play the movie through before i go to burn it. the sounds is behind. i have tryed to compair the necro version to the VLC player version to get the timing right but it seems to me that the video is running slowing inside nero (or audio is running faster) i have no idea how to sort this and it's happening with a few of my *backup* dvd's

any help would be greatly welcomed

    thanks in advance

    weebee,
Welcome to the forum. When you back the movies up and play them in a standalone DVD Player is the audio in sync or out? Are you using Recode to do the movies?

    weebee,
Recode is Nero Recode as that is the program inside of Nero that you should be using.

What programs are you using to rip the DVD to your HD?

Are you doing Movie only or are you doing the whole disk?

What are your computer specs? ( ram , burner name and model#)

Is the burner's firmware up to date.

What is the name brand of the blank media you are using?

Can you post the last Nero log of the last burn you tried?

I know it is a lot to ask but this will help. Post the log first as it should have most of the info inside it.

    Nero History log> Nero 7: Program Files > Nero > Nero7 > Core > NeroHistory

Do not forget to delete your name and program serial number before posting that log as spammers can get it and sell it. Then Nero can deactivate it and you are SOL. The serial number should be at the top and it should start like this... IA32........................

    ok my pc is:

    amd sempron 2800+
    512Mb ddr400
    _nec dvd_rw nd 4570a driver version: 5.1.2535.0

im not to sure if im allowed to say and im sry if this is breaking rules but

the dvds are downloaded the one atm im having problems with is FAst & the Furious 3 ( the fact its a pirate might be the reason but i dont think so)

about the firmware im not 100%

but i have burned other dvds (pirate) and there fine its just a couple that are out of sync

nothing special about the dvd's my uncle gave me them so dont know there name, came in a plastic sheet with no name. they are printable ones.

u should edit ur serial number out, its in 2 places it starts with 1c8
as u dont want any one to pirate them

    Also ur firmware is
not sure if it is update because i cant find ur burner model on the firmware page.
    edit
so im guessing this is a very new burner, and probably has the latest firmware, not to sure though.

u can try and use a more stable version of nero too

I personally do not like this version of Nero. I would uninstall, run this clean tool,http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html and then install this more stable version 7.0.8.2 from here

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845

DMA needs to be on, go here for a guide to turn on,http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038

not to sounds stupid ( cos i know i am0 but i realized that the audio and video are not a set distance apart (i.e 5 secs difference0

the long you watch the video via nero's previewer the more it goes out of sync.

i know that after the dvd is burnt the delay will be a set value

thought this might help you pro to help me ^^

    ty for all your help

p.s i am about to updated eveything you said
