I currently have a 200 dollar gift certificate I am putting toward a digital camera. Thing is, the gift certificate is to Best Buy so that is where I will make my purchase. I would rather not spend anymore then $500. Here is a list of some of the camcorders I saw on their website, but I would like some professional opinions on which ones to go with. This isn't for anything like professional movie editing as you can imagine I just want a nice camera that I WILL be making dvds on my cpu with. Much better then the Sony Hi-8 that has to be taken through a Canopus 100 convertor right now. argh... Anyway, here is the list. Let me know your thoughts. Also, are JVC good brands?
Canon make excellent DV Camcorders, I have a 630i (might be only avaiable in the UK) and it is a brilliant camcorder. I don't know much about JVC but there camcorders are packed with the extra's you would normally have to pay a lot more which can't be bad.
Well, I ended up getting the ZR-80 I believe. It was about 399, but so far its been a good camera. No Night Shot though , where all the lights can be off, but is got a night mode.
