Okay let me explain everything here. First I had a softmodded xbox that worked fine but without the latest ms dash so you know I said okay i'll format it then install the new ms dash then I could patch it.... well it never worked out like that and next thing you know I get a service screen error code I don't remember the code number but it was the one with no dash found blah blah... so basically my hdd was completely useless. Now the fun part, I didn't write down the password for the HDD key nor do I know the master or user password so I had only one choice but the HOTSWAP it... after cursing a few times it didn't want to work, but I finally managed to get it working, from there surprisenly atapwd let me reset the master and user password and I erased the whole damn thing! now I formated it under mmc good my hdd is now unlocked for good. okay next step I used was the HD_PREPARER which I selected entire drive for zeroing. After that was done I used xboxhdm to build a hd from scratch, good it worked like a charmed, I got the system-files from a friend and I put it in the C: partition and for the hell of it I added back the savegame exploit into E: now after burning the xboxhdm with the system-files everything worked fine, I was like finally I could get this to work. Now first time I try the hdd on the xbox, I get another error code that meant it can't boot because the hdd is unlocked so i'm like fine... for some reason I had trouble locking the hdd after several attempts it finally locked... now I tried it again, now it gives me error code 6 that it can't unlock the hdd.... now for the password I put in the password value that I got from liveview or whatever its called but I didn't have my eeprom file so I imagine thats worthless what I put? so now i'm stuck here, anybody know how to fix this one?
You think by buying a modchip will resolve my issue? What are your thoughts?

yes a modchip will fix your problem...but you might need to buy a new hd as well.
