Well I rencently just spent about 10 hrs, flashing my 360. My current set up is Hitachi 78. I used toolbox 4.8 and followed all the steps, I got to one point where I needed to choose, what version of xtreme I was to use, in reading previous guides etc. It states I should have had only one choice. But I had several different choices, I chose the one that it auto selected for me, which was ixtreme v14 78 8x(Sorry if that is not exactly how it read). Everything said it was completed just fine. So I went and tested out a game I backed up, but it just read it as a dvd. So I tried the original version of the game, I got the screen that told me I needed to insert a xbox 360 game. Can anyone tell me if I just need to update the firmware or if I bricked it out. Thanks in advance. If it wasnt for this site, my day would have just spent all day watching football.
The reason it's probably doing that is because you installed a firmware that doesn't support wave 3 games. That, or it's just a really old firmware, cause that doesn't sound right. Go to 360mods, and in the downloads you can get a program called Easy Xbins, which will help you get the firmware package for the Hitachi Drives. When you open up Easy Xbins, This is where you will want to go, to get the Firmware: Xbox 360-->Firmware-->Hacked Firmware-->Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L There will be a rar file about 4MB in size, which is called "Hitachi_iXtreme_1.51.rar" That will have the right firmware for ya. Now I recommend using JungleFlasher to flash your drive, since it's probably the easiest way to do it now.
What gets to me is that even the original wouldn't be read properly. Even if it was a wave 3 game, the original should still work. It sounds like a key mismatch.
if thats the case, this guy is probably SOL as he dumped a bad key (more than likely). if it managed to dump the correct key but didnt get spoofed right, i hope he saved a copy of it. otherwise its time to buy a new 360 dude.
I went ahead and used Jungle Flasher, resotred it back to original and used xtreme 1.5 to reflash. Everything worked without a problem and am currently playing the backed up game. IT was just the old firmware that did it. Thanks to everyone who replied. Thats why this site is great.
why did you use 1.5? do you not want to play wave 3 games or something? should have used 1.51 so you are done flashing for a long while. now you have to flash it once again.
Hopefully he meant 1.51, cause if he followed the directory in Easy Xbins, it would be the 1.51 and not the 1.5. oh and I know what time it is... Time for me to sleep... At 6:30 in the evening...
