no there no drivers for win xp for this card reader I even contacted the company and they said thers no drivers too tried to install win 98 driverd but it didnt work eaither
Thanks [bold]ddp[/bold], I did that and it is USB 2.0. I bet that's the problem then. His desktop might only have 1 port that is USB 2.0 or non for that matter where as his Laptop is USB 2.0. Since he stated he tried all ports, it’s probably the latter. Depending on his MB, it might have the ability to do a software update to correct this. The next question is then how old of a MB and what type. Spec's can be looked up online to see what its capabilities are.
ScubaBud, don't think so as i have an external usb2 40gig wd hd in 2.5" case that works on usb1 & 2. bid_dj, does card reader have 2 connectors on 1 end of cable as my external drive does. on some computers only need 1 connector & others need 2nd connector to provide additional power for device to be seen properly
board has Eight USB 2.0 ports. right now i'd say it is a power problem as not enough power. what is latest bios version on computer as inel site has BF86510A.86A.0071.P22 Dec 02 2004
XP should have recognized it right away then. Most USB 2.0 products are downward compatible, but certain accessories such as a JumpDrive 2.0 memory stick will not work in a 1.1 USB port. What does your device manager show for its USB controllers?
