The HDTV that I currently have was advertised as a PC monitor before a tv so it doesn't come with the input for a cable line (you know, the one installed from the wall). So I was wondering if I could buy a VCR or something and hook it up to the tv, and then plug in the cable line into the VCR thus, enabling me to watch cable on my HDTV. If so, what kinds of inputs and outputs should I look for on the VCR that I buy? Sorry I don't know much. Thanks in advance.
Might be hard to find some new in store VCRs or even the older analog tuner DVD recorders these days, which I assume you might need. Check with Charter and see what they have available with component (or S-VIDEO) out. Something like this DVD refurb might work and will also give you component outputs. http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Magnavox-Progressive-Scan-DVD-Recorder/2573923/product.html
