    Hello

I have an AVI file (about 700mb) that plays just fine. Everything is in sync. I used Virtualdub to split the AVI. Now when I play my smaller AVI file, its got audio sync issues. I used direct stream copy for both video and audio.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there anyway in which I will keep my audio in sync when I split the files and what can I do for the AVI files that I already split that have audio sync issues?

I haven't run into the problem with saving part of the file.
When you look at the length of the Video and Audio in 'File' > 'File Information' are they different times?

If they are different try 'Video' > 'Frame Rate' and opt for 'Change so Video and Audio durations match'.

Maybe it's a consequence of the common annoying problem of 'non-standard AVIs with VBR audio'.

Did VirtualDub give a warning about varable bitrate audio?

If so, use VirtualDubMod instead of VirtualDub, and when it asks if it "can rewrite the header of the MP3 audio using stanard CBR values instead of VBR ones", simply answer 'no' .

Then act as you did on VirtualDub.
