I am trying to burn music videos to a DVD for use in my truck.
I have a tv/dvd/cd player which plays pretty much anything. My problem is when I burn the music vids to a dvd, the first 10 vids or so are not clear. They drag or skip. After about the first 10 vids, the rest of the DVD is fine. Does anyone know what is going on?
I am using a Micro Advangtage 18X8 Dual Burner, Imation DVDR's.

    Hi there,

Maybe burned too fast on cheap media ?

What's the MEDIA ID of those disks ?

    use:
    VSO Inspector v1.1
    DVD Identifier
*OR* look in your burning software LOGS, Media ID is shown.

If they are made by CMC Magnetics Inc. these are real cheap quality.

Also, burn slow, try 2x or x4.0 MAX on quality media.

If you play those .VOB files on your PC (PowerDVD, WinDVD, Windows Media Player etc...) are they all ok ?

The problem is on the burned media only ?

    Good Luck !

Ok the media id is MBIPG101-R04-01.
I performed a scan and it appears that it started burning at about 4.85X then gained speed until about 8X
If i play the DVD on my CPU using Windows Media, it plays fine.

    Hi there,

This is NOT a popular Media ID. Those are probably cheap quality media (Nothing personal <grin> )

Personally, I would not burn those higher than 2x.

Try one at 2x, and see if it makes a difference.

    I think it will !

I rarely burn at 4x (On Taiyo Yuden), I burn everthing at 2x.

Best Quality Media: Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Maxell (Made In Japan)
Then 8x might work, but most of us here will not suggest burning above 4x for Video, but then again, these are just opinions !

    My 2 cents...
