need some help

okay i just got resident evil 2 for my pc, i installed it but when i save the game it doesnt work. so i searched google for why this was happpening and i got this:

okay i did everything to even changing the compatibility to win 95 but it still wont work or it freezes, then it mentions something bout changing the save file path to a fat32 external object, well i got a 250 mb fat32 formatted harddrive but i dont know how to change the save files path to go there useing regedit.... plz help me out with this....

okay i changed the filepath to L:/ where my external hdd is connected (fat32) but the saves still wont load!!
