NEED TEAM TO DOWNGRADE PSP TO AT LEAST 1.5

I'm almost sure someone before you thought of that, and it didn't work! Alas if it only were as simple as that...

What I learnd today (Remember Kids Google is your Friend!) =)

Sony uses an encoded MD5 Key for each and every File in it's OS, If the Keys everntully do not match up... Your PSP will crash back to the Dashboard with some Error Message '8xxxxx...'

So no editing that will only cause you to change the Hash which the PSP will reject without question! In short, that will not work!

 

oh, well. Just an idea ;-)

 

Okay, I'm really more of a computer guy than anything else, but since the psp is so much like a computer.. what about this:
1) Flash the memmory stick
2) Make a usb connection and delete any extra data
3) Get someone who has 1.50 to zip up their files and upload them
4) We download that zip package, extract and put on our psps.

I know very little about the psp, but the following facts, I think are true.

1) The psp can only store data on its memmory stick
2) If we are able to wipe the memmory stick then in theory we should be able to put the older version on.

Now please don't flame, because like I said I havn't done alot of reading on the PSP as I should have.. I'm just speaking out of past experiance with computers. Odds are this had already been tried.. so on and so forth, but I thought the idea might be worth a mention.

 

The only problem is how would you set the command to bypass the Write Protect on the EEPROM to Erase the Flash in the first place not to mention the knowledege to actually make the Firmware Flasher?

Like I sad everything the PSP needs has an encoded MD5 Hash that must match up in order for an up/downflash to work. Which is mostlikly not going to get broken anytime soon. Kinda like the RSA Key for XBOX™ I don't know what might happen I've hear rumors that Team SmartXX (best known for XBOX™ Chips), are currently looking at the PSP. So maybe they'll be able to make a Chip of it (or something).

As far as Team WAB and Yoshi go. The current 411 on WAB (a.k.a 'Das (sept 1), Wunder Hack' is that Yoshi has gone AWOL and has left Team WAB and has stoped all work on the said Hack.

Damn convenient for him now that so many People sent him Money to get the damn thing so, He could eventually use His Mad Skillz at hacking it! >=(

a thought here. Some games have upgades attached to them for example "Midnight Club Dub Edition" has a 1.50 update in it. I also heard it is possible to backup your own game onto a memory card. I am not technically saavy but maybe this realization will help those of you who are. If this has already been thought of please let me know.

I Have Read All These Messages And Theres Nothing To Downgrade the 2.0 Version. When They Come Up With One Put It In Gold Letters.

 

Erm well ive got my psp now 10 days and i downloaded the game Terra Incognita but it wont work, ive got There's 1 file thats broken and the other 1 isn't. But when i click it it says its broken :S.. Can anybody help me?

THERE CURRENTLY IS NO I REPEAT NO!! CURRENT WAY FOR YOU TO RUN HOMEBREW ON A PSP 1.5x ~ 2.0!!!

You have Two options.

1) Hold up with your 1.5x and chill till someone comes up with a 'Patch' or 'Downgrader' or....

2) Upflash your PSP and use the Built-in Web Browser / H.264 (AVC) CODEC. Then chill for a 'Patch' or 'Downgrader'.

At the moment Option 1 is still the best Option, to go with.

Granted this will not be the first Site with the News of such a 'Patch' and or 'Hack', But I can safely say that when such News breaks it'll be posted in here as well...

 

is there any way to play games of the memory stick without the downgrade?? i have a 1.52 and are wondering if anything will work???

There's a Guy over on psphacks.net called DaggerX who's soposidly has a working Patch for 1.5x users. With some luck he very well might release it in the comming Week. Then maybe only then maybe we can change that answer to a yes. But, for now the answer is NO!

BTW: This 'Patch' thingy it's only for 1.5x Users. So again all you 2.0 Useser can eat Cake, and chill till WAB (We Are Beegers), eventually (if ever!!!), release there Downgrader...

 

Ichijoe, I agree with you that there is no way yet to downgrade the PSP but several different people have been working on it and are close to the solution But it wont be posted here first. Check PSP updates. They get breaking news way before it gets posted here. I myself was one of the first to post when the PSP 1.5 was first cracked and homebrew was up and running with downloadable software that did not require two memory sticks. You can always get the news about all psp homebrew and software at PSP Updates first. Oh, and they have always been reliable on information.

 

if you have version 2.00 cant you just put a snes emulator on your psp?

 

You can not play homebrew on 2.0 so NO snes emulator on psp 2.0
You might be able to put it there but you can not boot and play.
I have read of two programs that would allow downgrading of 2.0 PSP that are said to supposedly be working but they have not been released just yet. They are still getting some tweaking done to them but be patient they will be released soon I am sure. I hope they get release before GTA is released for PSP b/c I am afraid it may be one of the games to require an upgrade before it will play. If they havenot released the downgrade for 2.0 PSP and GTA needs 2.0 to run, I dont know what i am going to do. Homebrew or GTA??? I have been waiting impatiently for GTA every since I heard it was coming to the PSP.

1.5x & 2.0 Homebrew No!!

What is Homebrew??? It's Every Emulator / Fastloader / App that you want to run and the Stuff that $0ny doesn't want you to run.

So stop asking about GBC / GBA / SNES / SEAGA on PSP +1.5x ~ 2.0!!

The answer is NO! AS IN N....O....[/i]!!!
